Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

How much is a fair settlement?

I purchased a Turkey frier from major discount chain in Dec. When using it for the first time on Christmas, the basket in which the turkey sat in came apart and fell in grease that was at least 300 degrees. The hot grease splattered in my face, burning the bridge of my nose, and my eyes. I had to miss 3 days of work, plus I ran up very hefty medical bills. The store where it was purchased is not responsible, due to a contract between the manufacturer and the seller. It is between the manf. and myself. How much would I be available to collect for personal injury and time lost at work? Any help would be appreciated.

It is WAY too early to determine if there is any liability and, if there is, who is responsible. Remember the McDonald's hot coffee case? You should, ASAP, contact a local personal injury attorney.

Please feel free to give me a call for a free phone consultation.

I recently volunteered for the BBS system and though your post was a year ago, I thought I'd clear up one error. The retailer may also be liable under the theory of implied warranty. Georgia courts have held that a retailer may be liable to consumers for defective products. There really are no if, ands, or buts. If you have any other questions, please feel free to follow-up.
