Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia
House flooded by water, sewage & mud
Approximately 6 weeks ago my home was flooded by county workers that broke a sewer line on my street. My house was flooded with mud, water, and sewage. The county supervisors have admited liability and sent a crew to clean up and pack my belongins up to be moved out and stored. It has been 6 weeks now and I am still no where close to getting back into my house. They tell me the clean up process is complete and now I need to get contractors to submit 3 bids for approval to do the necessary work to put my house back. What are my legal rights to recover living expenses during this time, loss of use of my house, and belongings and general inconvience of finding different friends and relatives to stay with during this period of time.

Re: House flooded by water, sewage & mud
You would need to file suit against the city if they do not agree to compensate you. Certain items are recoverable - damage to property, damage to personal property - and some are not - inconvenience. There are certain obstacles that make suing the city difficult, but it still might be worth while if you have substantial damages.
