Yes, if the defendant resides in Georgia.
If you were injured during a slip and fall accident in Georgia, you would generally file suit in Georgia. If you move, your case would still stay pending in Georgia while you were recovering in another state. You may, however, be required to come back to Georgia to address issues in your case.
The question of venue (i.e., where a case can be filed) in a personal injury case can become complex. Therefore, you are always well advised to discuss your case with a skilled personal injury attorney. The best place to start is with your existing attorney and, if you are not satisfied, you can seek a second opinion from another attorney.
I am completely mystified. You say you have a lawyer, and yet you are asking something here that you should be asking your lawyer. Why have you not asked him?
The answer, which no one here can give, is it may be fine to move or it may not be. That depends on things we don't know including the status of the case and where the defendant is.
Call your lawyer. He will know if moving will have any effect on your case.
