Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

miscarriage and car accident

I have read that miscarriages are difficult to link to car accidents. I was rear-ended in the early weeks of my pregnancy. I was diagnosed with mysofasciatus or muscle knots/spasms (probably misspelled) and cervical spline sprain/strain in neck, lower and mid back. The car was totaled. About a month later I loss the baby in a ''missed miscarriage'' meaning the baby passed in me but the remains were never actually released hence my preganancy seemingly was pregressing normally. My first ultrasound indicated that the baby was dead and only lived for about 5 weeks inside me. This means my baby died about 5 days after the accident. Should This be included in my injuries? Is this impossible to link to the accident? SHould I even get a lawyer?

I am sorry to hear about your loss.

You should include it in your injuries if there is medical testimony to support it. Much may depend on what your own doctors have to say about the issue.

Feel free to give me call if you want to talk about it on more detail. Ther is no charge for the consultation.

Re: miscarriage and car accident

First, I want to give my condolences on your loss.

Now to answer your question, whether you can link the miscarriage to your car accident will depend on your doctor's opinion. You are correct, that it is a difficult task to link a miscarriage to a car accident, since so many other variables could have caused the miscarriage.

I will assume you have other medical bills and expenses related to your injuries. For that reason alone, I would advise you to contact an attorney. Unfortunately, the insurance industry is on a rampage with undervaluing claims.

As with most attorneys, you can contact my office free of charge for a consultation.

Sincerely,
