Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia
Hi, My name is Ms. Jessie I am 25yrs old and I had an accident in my moms car when I was 15yrs old while driving under a learners permit. At the time, my mom had no idea I had her car and she did not have insurance. Since I was a minor at the time, I paid restitution to the family through community service. The Insurance company still was not satisfied so they decided to wait until after I got my license and turned 18yrs old to sue me. Mind you, I just got of high school when this came about. I was served, but by me being naive, thinking that court did not matter because I already did community service years earlier I was a no show. The judge entered a default judgment and suspended my license indefinitely. I contacted the attorney and no reasonable agreement can be made. It has been 10yrs now, I have NO license, and every year the balance gets bigger and bigger, it is almost up to $10,000. I mean come on, I do not have a car, a job and I am in school what can I do??????? HELP!

You knowingly failed to take care of the issue at the time, and in the last 10 years, and it is certainly not an issue solved on an internet website. Get a lawyer now, or you can safely assume the hole will get bigger and bigger because you will not deal with it.
You've done everything wrong up until now, largely because you have failed to do the one thing that would have long ago fixed the problem - getting and paying a lawyer. If you want to drive at any time in your lifetime you will do it now.
You have two choices - pay what you owe (and it will grow each year), or see if you are eligible for bankruptcy (depending on details you failed to post, that might get rid of the debt and restore your ability to get a license).
