A pedestrian hit by car, police say there's nothing they can do about it.

don't pedestrians always have the right of way?

although i have no perminent injuries (only muscle soreness) am i entitled to some compensation?

No pedestrians do not always have the right of way. If you or the driver have PIP or med pay insurance you can probably get your med bills paid tho.
