Legal Question in Personal Injury in Georgia

. I was target shooting with a 22 caliber semi automatic and the gun jammed..as I was walking back to the house, finger OFF trigger and gun pointed down, the thing misfired and shot me in the foot point blank range...went in the top near my big toe and out the bottom by my third toe...broke a bone and left me with some metal fragments and shoe and sock fibers which today were surgically removed...this has caused much pain and inconvenience.. Is this something I should pursue? I've been out of work since 3/1..thank you

Yes. Hire an attorney experienced with product liability cases, particularly firearms, an have your case evaluated. Whether the case is successful or not will depend on numerous factors but you should move quickly to have an experienced attorney advise you.

Pursue? The gun did what guns do. All of them jam or misfire at some point, for some reason (often user-error). Virtually any gun safety course involves instruction on what to do in a jam or misfire (in a nutshell - never point it toward anything you don't want shot, wait to see if it fires, then safely remove the cartridge). You never point any gun, much less a loaded one, much less a loaded one with a misfire in the chamber, toward anything you do not want shot. This was caused by not following basic gun safety. There is no one else to pursue for this.
