I was in a train wreck. the train crossing signal was not working and the train hit my rig. at the time i had bad knees (arthritis) the accident has made the situation worse. i was working driving a big rig. now i can not work because of the train wreck. my lawyer says "i might not get any compensation because my knees were bad before the accident."

And? Do you have a question? You have a lawyer for a reason - ask him/her about your case.
It's going to depend on whether you can establish by medical evidence that the wreck made your situation worse. It's hard to give you an opinion based on just what you have stated. However, if you feel your lawyer does not have confidence in your case, you are free to seek other legal opinions.
I'm not sure why you posted here. You have a lawyer who has seen the medical evidence and knows the details. No one here, without seeing that evidence, can answer you. Either rely on your lawyer or retain a new lawyer. Bear in mind that if you do that, unless you get teh other lawyer to agree to drop the case, you may owe two sets of legal fees.
