Re: Is Toyota responsible for injury

The short answer is "yes." Seats becoming unbolted from the floor of the vehicle during a collision is a product defect. I am aware of a case against Ford for a slightly different seat problem where a verdict was returned for $34,000,000. The victim was rendered a paraplegic by the collision, however. I hope , for your sake , you do not have an injury as severe. In any event, you must be injured for there to be a recovery. The amount of the recovery depends on the severity of the injury. There are issues of proof as well. You need to have the vehicle preserved. An expert in motor vehicles will need to examine it and testify about the defect. What are your injuries and where is the car?
