Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

In 2006, my ex-husband and I bought a home in Georgia, which he financed. For security, I put my name on the deed. I unfortunately left in 2008 and during the divorce we both agreed that he would keep the house and I the vehicle. Recently, I pulled my credit to find that he did not pay the taxes on the house from 2011-2013. Now I have liens on my credit. My new husband and I are trying to buy a new home and this is a HUGE set back. What can I do to get this removed?

The only way for you to get liens removed is for you to pay them. If your divorce lawyer made sure you have proper wording in your divorce papers, you may then be able to sue him for contempt to try and get your money and attorneys fees back.
