Apartment Rental

My friend has signed a lease agreement with an apartment complex (on a friday). On the following Monday (3 days later), wishes to rescind the agreement because he's decided to relocate out of the area instead. Can this be done? He was told that he has to wait 60 days and pay an early termination fee of $500 (along with the 2 months' rent amt).

The lease states the terms your friend agreed to. He should review the lease and see whether it includes any right to rescind and review what it says about early termination.
