Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
My aunt died and left her house and no will.
My aunt passed away 4/7/04. She didn't have any children and her husband preceeded her in death. Myself and my other aunt are her only immediate survivors. We are told she didn't draw up a will for the house. My aunt and I are trying to figure out how to handle the house. It is paid for in full and we have been handling to taxes and household bills. What do we need to do with this house? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Your question involves titling of the property. This needs to be addressed by an attorney where the property is situated.
Your question also involves intestate disposition of the property. This is also a matter for the local attorney but you may want to have another attorney review the matter.
Since she had no will the property passes by intestacy provisions. If taxes accumulate on the property unpaid then the property may escheat to the state.
Contact an attorney should you need assistance.

I assume your other aunt is the deceased aunt's sister. If so, she, as a sibling, is the sole heir and has all rights to the house. You should consult with a local attorney about administering the estate.
