Is it proper for a bank attorney to discuss title defects with the purchaser rather than the seller?

Obviously, I don't know the facts of your case, but generally a closing attorney needs to be open and honest with all parties. Remember, the closing attorney almost always represents the bank, not the seller or the buyer.
