Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Never billed for utilities until now, am i responsible?

i live in a three bedroom aptartment. our lease says that we are responsible for 1/3 of utilities each, but the utilities are in the owners name and we are supposed to get a bill each month. Been there since july, havent seen a bill until now. they say we own them for past months, but they never mailed us a bill, and the utilities were all payed for, am i responsible since it was their mistake?

Yep. You are responsible for the utilities (at least up to your 1/3 share).

I agree with Mr. Wood's answer except for this: Even though the lease may have spelled out (for your convenience) that A, B, and C are each liable for 1/3, I will bet that there is small print to the effect that if A doesn't pay, B and C are responsible for his share.
