Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I bought a house on the internet auction site. I paid for it in full. I received a deed of gift. When I checked it out owner bought it less than a year before the sell. I got my first tax bill sellers name is still listed as the owner. I know I paid some fees to have that transferred. Should I pay the tax bill ? It has been a year since the sell.House is a fixer upper.

Unless you did something very foolish, you hired a lawyer to check things out BEFORE you purchased (one never buys a home without that) and also paid for OWNERS TITLE INSURANCE and title search BEFORE the closing.

If you didn't you could have been scammed. Take all your paperwork to a lawyer. You may have an expensive disaster. A purchase is NEVER done with a deed of gift.

It's not the key question, but the tax bill is addressed to whomever owned the home legally on January 1, 2010.

It appears by you trying to save a few hundred dollars and doing things wrong you could have a huge catastrophe (in a worst ase situation, you got ripped off and may not own the home). You need a lawyer.
