Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Ok my ex boyfriend moved out of our apartment, and sub leased the apartment to me. We signed a sub lease agreement. However, the apartment complex was unaware of this, and the lease clearly stated that sub leasing is not permitted. Now he got officially evicted, and he is sueing me for the rent that wasn't paid. We are going to court next week. Do I have a case stating that the sub lease was unauthorized?

No. You don't get to have your cake and eat it too. You can't make a contract with someone, accept its benefits and deny it when you please.

More bad news - the apartment can also sue you for back rent and trash your credit.
