Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Is builder required to repair defects?

I closed on a new home 5 1/2 months ago. I creaed a list of repair items that need to be addressed by the builder. He avoids me and if I see him he says I am calling the sub-contractor now and he will fix it. I managed to get the number of one contractor and I had one issue resolved myself. It never happens. What can I do to get these issues resolved? To name a few.

Dry wall seams and visible nails

popped nails

unpainted areas

bubbled hardwoods

cracked window frame

HVAC airflow problems

Can I put signs in my windows that say

''Ask about builder''

''Unhappy buildername Customer''

to share my experiences?

Re: Is builder required to repair defects?

This many years after construction, it is likely to depend entirely on what kind of written warranty your builder gave you. Feel free to fax your building contract(s) (all of them) to me at 1-413-403-5408 and I will be glad to give you a free initial evaluation.

Woops. You said 5.5 months, not years. The answer is basically the same, but the closer proximity in time should make your case much better.
