Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

car

I have and am driving aan 04 malibu. It's in my ex-husbands name only. We had reconciled and my credit isn't that great so we got the car in his name. I pay the pmts and car insurance but I'm worried that if he passed away before the car is paid off and the title were to get in my name I may lose it to his estate. We did a statement saying when its paid off he would immediately sign the title to me. However as I said I'm concerned about what would happen to the car if it wasn't paid off and he died. What type of form can we do to protect my interests in the car. I have over 2 1/2 yrs left on pmts.

Re: car

The best advice I can think of is to get life insurance on him to at least cover the car payments. Talk to your insurance agent BEFORE you talk to the outfit to whom the car payments are due.
