If a child from the neighborhood parks their bike behind your parked vehical in the driveway and you hit the bike not knowing it was there who is responsible for the damage?

Obviously you as the driver. A driver should never back up without looking. You were negligent. Pay for the bike and be very glad that you didn't kill a person instead. I would urge you to take driving school before driving again. It will teach you safety skills (and lower your insurance).
