Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Commercial Lease
My Mom leased 1/3 of a building she owned in 2003 for the length of 15 years with an option to renew for an additional 5 years. She passed away in 2006 and I would like to terninate the lease. The lease states that it is binding to the heirs, assigns and sucessors. Can I terminate the lease and if so what could it possibly cost me? The tenant is a very unreasonable person.

Re: Commercial Lease
It all depends on the fine print in the lease. Have it reviewed by a local attorney. Based on what you have stated, my guess is that you probably CANNOT terminate the lease, but there may be an early termination clause.
