Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
My dads land was set as a survivorship deed with me being the only survivor. I had my husband added because we were going through bankruptcy and our lawyer told us it would help us to put his name on it to keep us from losing it. Now my dad has passed away and I am battling the land with my stepmom. Is she entitled to any of the land legally? Mine (daughter) and my husbands name were the only 2 names on the survivorship deed when my dad passed away. I have been told that since we added a name to the deed it termanited the deed making my stepmom entitled to half???

No one here has the documents and your post certainly does not include the facts. For one, there is no such thing as adding someone to a deed. You need a lawyer who can review the documents, not an internet website.
You have left out far too much information to answer. If the facts are as you say, how is there a battle?
You need an appointment with a lawyer to review her claims and the documents. I'd be especially interested to see the deed and what documents she has filed.
