Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

deed transfer

My grandfather bought a tiny parcel with no road access in central Florida decades ago, When he passed away he left it to my dad who had the deed tranferred to his name. Last year my dad died leaving it to my 2 sisters and myself, my dad's heirs. It is worth $150.00, and the peole in Fla. that handled it for my dad said it would be at least $1800.00 plus fees and that for something worth so little. Do we have any otehr options Does it always cost so much to transfer a deed? Thanks.

Re: deed transfer

I can't imagine a piece of land worth only $150.00, but if that is what it is, so be it. At any rate, I don't know anything about property transfers in FL. You might try re-posting your question and click the box that indicates the the question relates to FL law instead of GA law. That way it will be posted to FL attorney.
