Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
disputies over property line
I have a survey from when I bought the house in 1995, the house was built in 1984.
In the year of 2003 my next-door neighbor sold his house and now the new owners are asking us to move a basketball goal, tree and part of our driveway, these items were
Already in place before he moved in. These items are all within 30 feet from my house and my survey shows I have at least 36.0 feet from the corner of my house.
In 2005 I did remove my basketball goal due to the need of repairs, however the other items
Are still in place.
The new neighbor are currently installing a fence within inches from my driveway and over the past several months the neighbor have been very difficult to get alone with and
Will not communication or attempt to workout any solution.
I would like to know if there is a STATE law or nation law that would resolve this property line dispute.
Thank you,

Re: disputies over property line
The simple way to resolve a property line dispute is usually pretty easy - - determine where the line is. You don't need to pay a lawyer to do this, or to find laws that mean nothing before determining where the line is. You need to get a survey, and offer to review a survey obtained by the neighbor. Otherwise, where is your damage? What has the neighbor done on your property? Building a fence within inches of your driveway does not mean it is on your property. As much as lawyers like fees, neighbor disputes are best resolved without getting to that point.

In disputes, such as yours, laws established by decisions in prior cases are applied to the facts and circumstances of each case. Often intervention by attorneys is required to achieve resolution.
