how can i find out if there is a lien on my property if the credit reports don't show a lien is present?

Hire a lawyer or title company do do a title search, or go to the courthouse yourself to check the real estate records (which would be difficult if you did not know how to do it). A credit report should never be relied upon to see if a lien is recorded.
