Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Foreclosure

My Grandfather and his wife has just divorced and have a house that is being foreclosed on. She has moved out of state and can't be located. He id currently in the hospital and is mentally incapacitated. I have been given a durable general power of attorney to act in his best interest. 1. How can I stop the foreclosure? 2. Is it my responsibility to track this lady down and give her her share of any proceeds from the sale of the house if any? 3. Does his mental state hold any baring on the sale of the property? last but not least, will I be financially responsible for any of his debts? I really love him and am trying to help but don't want to get in over my head. Please help ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Foreclosure

You really do need to see an attorney on this one. There are a lot of questions about documents and other facts which need to be answered.

Re: Foreclosure

I would strongly advise that you speak with local counsel. Your case sounds too complex to be dealt with through e-mail.

If you would like to discuss any issues further, please feel free to contact my office. My contact information is below. Thank you.
