Your question has nothing to do with real property - the category you chose. If the issue is important, you would see a lawyer immediately after the arrest to see that it is properly handled with the best result. However, since you violated the rules of this forum by posting your name and private information, anyone (including employers) will now see the details of your arrest when they search for your name on google.

First of all, you posted in "real property" meaning house closing lawyers and NOT criminal lawyers saw your question. But having said that, a criminal conviction for theft not only ruins this job, but may make you largely unemployable for life. And you made that worse by posting your name (in violation of Law Guru guidelines). Since Google and Bing cache that forever, even if you get pretrial diversion, every employer for life that does an online search may learn that you stole from Wal-Mart. You may want to call LawGuru and see if they will remove your post.

Your next step - you absolutely need a lawyer IMMEDIATELY. Stop posting online and get one. Good luck. (And yes, a lawyer might assist you in seeking pretrial diversion, although he can't undo the mistake you made in telling the whole internet you shoplifted).
