HOA fees
We are dealing with a situation where a past HOA management company took all of our money and did not pay the bills. They are gone and another management company has taken over but is now trying to collect for last years dues again. They are trying to get the subdivision back in order but I do not feel that I should have to pay last years dues again or prove that I paid it. Do I have a legal leg to stand on? I told them I would pay the current dues but would not pay for last years dues again. Do they have a right to collect for a past management company?

You should not have to pay duplicate dues for a single year, unless there is some language in your homeowner's agreement that allows them to do that. If not, then you should not have to pay.
