Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

My home association got a court judgment against me for principal, late fees and their attorney's fees. I fully paid all the principal. Today they brought my checking account to $0 by pulling every penny I had $1,110 and I had my card declined 2 times before I called the bank. What should I do?

There is nothing you can do. If the judgment was for principal, late fees and attorney's fees and the only thing you paid was principal, then they likely have the ability to garnish your bank accounts. You owe the money and you had it sitting in a bank account. They could have given you the opportunity to have a payment plan, but for whatever reason decided against it. They will keep garnishing your bank accounts until you are paid in full.

Best of luck.******The above is for informational purposes only and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******

From your post, you did not pay the judgment and, as is normal, they filed a garnishment to collect. What you can do is make sure the full debt is paid, and then move on. Otherwise, I am not sure what kind of response you expect. This is what happens when you have a judgment against you.

Be aware that unless you bankrupt or pay ALL the judgment, including costs and interests, they can keep grabbing bank accounts and pay checks.

You should have seen a lawyer months ago. See one now.
