Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
home ownership
My father's will states that his estate will be divided three ways between me and my brother and sister. Two months before he died he told me in front of two witness that he was going to deed me the home I live in that is part of the property. Will this stand up in a court of law? My brother is adamant that it will not and that I will need to give him his portion of money from the the home if I intend to stay in it.
Please advise

Re: home ownership
From your post, there is nothing to "stand up" in court. He may have stated his intent to do something in front of many witnesses, but he apparently did not do it.

His oral statements will not change the wording of the will.
