Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Homeowners Associations
We bought a house last year and while looking to but we checked to make sure there was no Association because we are military and would not be here long term. After we moved in about 3 month later they called a neighborhood meeting to discuss a Homeowners Association. When we sold a townhouse in Maryland it was in the contract there was an association and they annual fees.
My question is if they never made this common knowledge can they force us to be part of this? They have given no written contract showing what the money will be allocated towards but expect for all to pay.

Re: Homeowners Associations
Whether you asked questions of whomever is irrelevent. If the covenants were properly filed, you were given "constructive notice" of the covenants. You should contact your closing attorney for more information.
