Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

my husband's aunt gave him 5 acres and part of a pond. he wanted him to have part of the pond. she had it surveyed and gave him the title. not long after that her grandson wanted to fix the dilapidated fence. instead of putting the fence back (it divided the lake), he put the fence thru husbands land... took 1/2 acre and knocked down trees to make a road/fence. husband asked him to remove the fence which he never did. 17 years later ...after asking him to move fence he takes the grandson (his 2nd cousin) to court and wins ...sort of. Grandson eventually moved fence. and had to pay 2000.00 to husband but husband was out 5000.00 for attorney fees. not to mention the land still looks bad. is that all husband can do? he's still out 3000.00 and he has a curt document that says grandson is guilty.
