Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

incorrect tax rate at closing

When I bought my home the tax rate on the closing paperwork lited was at 50% and I was not notified of this. I told the mortgage company that I had to have a certain payment amount in order to buy the house, and the amount we reached was at the desired amount. Now I have recieved a letter that since the county tax amount was incorrect, My mortgage is going up $200 per month. Do I have any legal remedy to this problem?

Read your documents. If something was on the closing paperwork and contracts, it is generally deemed disclosed to you. I this also unlikely that the contracts bind the lender to the tax rates, beyond their control. Finally, you likely signed a document agreeing to correct errors, perhaps including this one. No one can tell you if you have a remedy without the same complete review of the documents, but it is probably not likely.
