Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Intention to Vacate Notices

I signed a 12 month lease and never received a copy of my lease, despite numerous requests. My lease expires 4/30/00. I gave a 30-day notice on 3/28/00, but landlord informed me that they require a 60-day notice. They placed lease renewal notices on my door dated 3/15 and 3/20, which was already too late to honor their 60-day policy. Are they entitled to charging me even though they placed misleading renewal notices on my door?

Re: Intention to Vacate Notices

You are in a real bind because without having access to the actual lease you don't know which way to jump. Contact a local lawyer. It may be illegal to refuse to give you a copy.
