Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Land theft
In the early 1900s, my great-grandfather purchased almost 100 acres of land. In the 1920s, he and his wife, children, and their families (including my grandparents and mother) were run off the land. The land was sold as a quit claim with his ''X'' on the deed. However, I have proof that he could write his name. The Library of Congress reports that the insurance company who subsequently acquired the land was under fire by the US government and ordered to cease operations. All land and policies with this company were eventually transferred to a US agency, a court appointed lawyer and ''Big 6'' accounting firm. The land was fraudulantly acquired and never legally owned by the initial seller. Although it has been sold several times, the land has belonged to the same family for more than 60 years. Are there any laws that protect my rights to reclaim the property? If so, what forms should I file and with whom? Any legal advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Land theft
It is safe to say that a century old land title issue, and government conspiracy claim, are far beyond the scope of a consumer message board like this. A real estate lawyer is your best place to start.
