Liens/HOA

My HOA threatened to place a lien against my home due to an unpaid initiation fee, not dues which have been paid. I have received no paper work confirming this. How and where do I check to see where I stand legally, and if they followed through with their threat?

Either ask the HOA representative, or search the deed records in the County Superior Court Clerk's office.
