Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
I live in sugar hill,ga my question is i'm a home owner, my property is paid for, i do not have home owners ins. the trees next door are very large and towering over my home. If they fell hitting my home do i have a leg to stand on? would the person next door be held accountable for the damage?

Maybe, maybe not. If the trees appear to be healthy and a tornado or powerful storm that blows one over, it is generally an Act of God and you probably take the hit. If the neighbor neglects a diseased tree and it falls in storm, he/she might be liable. It is horrible idea to not have insurance on your home, for many reasons.
