Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
While living in a rental property, An invitee attacked me in what turned out to be anattempt to rob me. The case is in court.State is Georia.Consequently, due to the blood that was on the carpet and outside the apartment, the landlord hired a company to clean up at a huge cost. They paid the cleanup company and threw the bill at me as damages to the property. The Lease clearly states that I am responsible for damages by a guest. Given that this is damage by criminal acts by a guest, should I be responsible financialy?

Yes you're responsible.
Hopefully you didn't make a foolish mistake and not spend the tiny amount (usually less than $200 a year) that rental insurance costs. That insurance, if you have it, will take care of the claim.
