Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

I lost a law suit. I paid the 57 thousand dollars and the lawyer fees in 12 months. I went to the court clerk and she said that once the last check was cashed, the case would be closed. My last payment wasn't cashed. It was returned in a certified letter stating I had to pay 12% interest. The court documents never mention interest. What do I do now. The lawyers are saying they will put my house up for auction in thirty days. My family has had enough. We took care of the bill in 12 months. What do I do?

You owe the interest and court clerks CANNOT advise you on the law. You failed to do what the law requires. All judgments bear interest at the statutory rate. So you have yet to pay off the judgment, and as a result, you could lose your home. See a lawyer now (you should have done it earlier).
