Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Major Problem Revealed in Home Inspection
We are currently trying to sell our home that was built approximately in 1997. We bout it in 1999, from a ''For Sale By Owner''. When we purchased the house, our home inspector found no major problems. Now that we are trying to sell, the inspector found that the siding is installed incorrectly. There should be an inch and 1/4 overhang and there is only an inch. How can one inspector ''catch'' this and another can not? What legal actions can we take if we have already contacted the builder and they have claimed they wont have anything to do with this since the warranty has ran out. This would be an installation error, not a defect in the material. Please help, not sure what to do. Thank you in advance.

Re: Major Problem Revealed in Home Inspection
You should consult with a local attorney to see if the first one missed a building code requirement or if the second one was just giving his opinion that one-and-a-quarter.
