Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
Last March I moved out of state to a new job and put my house up for sale. After nine months my home owners association contacted and told me they need to improved the entrance and needed my vote. I only paid $20 a month for water and road repair. They also wanted my mailing address so I could be told about any up coming meetings so I attend. I did not reply to any e mail, again they send me more email wanting my address and OBTY you have not paid for the water the last months. My questions are do I owe the $20 maintenance fee for the last months? They are now calling the fee dues. I was never told I had to pay when I sent a letter to them when I was moving out last March. Also the water was cut off in December since no one was living there and the were afraid the water pipes would bust. Since they cut off the water, do I still owe the $20 for each month. My real estate agent give them my email address, with out my permission.
Thanks
Frank

No one here has the documents you signed (or that are properly recorded), so I am not sure how anyone else can answer. You need to read them. It would be unusual for the documents to allow you to not pay fees for property you own just because you do not live there but, again, presumably you have or should have the agreements.
