Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
I met a fellow student at school who was arrested in Georgia and his attorney told him that to get "his' car from impound and into his possession by paying is an admission of guilt? This sounded insane to me. He was pulled over and searched because of a trailer hitch attachment ball, arrested for possession of marijuana and because of this a "legal" pistol led to a gun charge because the possession was a felony amount. help?
The question here is can he even get his truck back and how can they find him guilty of its content by getting it back legally from the county and impound or anything else without a conviction or admission? His arraignment is coming up soon and he has not decided on a plea either. I don't think this student he knows what he is talking about and his lawyer is relatively unresponsive and he is scared for his future and needs some advice. I told him he need to get a copy of the police report and/or the "release packet" if that is possible. any suggestion or places to find the codes online?

You cannot be his lawyer. You may actually worsen his case by meddling. He needs to discuss his case with his lawyer. If he is unhappy with his counsel, he should hire new counsel.
If this is really you, listen to your lawyer. Do you really think an anonymous internet website like this is better than a criminal lawyer? If this is really a "friend," stay out of it. Neither you nor this website is as good as his lawyer and you trying to play lawyer can only do harm. Id this is your story, it is very strange that you would involve yourself in the serious situation of someone else.
