Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia
My mother has a piece of property she was awarded in a settlement. The lawyer has been paying the property taxes for the past nine years. I feel he is trying to take ownership of the property. Not oddly, he will not return my calls regarding. What is your advise?

Lawyers don't pay taxes on property they don't own. So you're leaving something out. Legally this isn't your problem, but your mother may wish to see a second lawyer if she feels her lawyer has done something improper.
What you "feel" about a transaction that appears to not involve you is not a legal issue. No one here can possibly know what is going on. As stated, if your mother has questions she can speak with the lawyer or go to another lawyer for a review. Those are not accomplished on a website like this.
