Mutually owned property dispute

I've taken my brother to court in order to forced him to sell property we inherited. My brother , who lives on the property is not able to buy my share and refuses to move or put the land up for sale.The judge ordered 3 appraisals to establish the value. I have been advised the property will go up for auction and sold to the highest bidder regardless of the value. To the highest bidder, whatever that bid ends up being , they will become the new owner and my brother and I will spit whatever amount that is.

Why did we have to get 3 appraisals if the highest bidder walks away with the deal? Is it possible that we would only get $10,000.00 for it if that happens to be the highest bid, even though it's worth $300,000.00?

Ask your lawyer, or get one. This is one of the outcomes for taking the action you did and putting it in the Court's hands. No one here knows the facts and details of the case.

The short and easy answer is "Because the Judge ordered it." There is no way of knowing without being involved in your case. Consult with a local attorney.
