Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

We have offered full asking price for a home with seller paying the closing cost. They have come back with a counter offer saying that the house will remai on the market and if they get another offer that they want to entertain then we will have 48 hours from notice to rescend our contingencies if we want to go ahead with the sale or we can back out. Is this legal?

I would have to read the offer and counter-offer to give you an opinion and fully understand the situation. You can contract for just about anything, but it sounds like these sellers are trying to hedge their bets. If you would like assistance in this process, please feel free to contact me.

Why would you think it is not? It is no less "legal" than your offer. They made an offer - take it, leave it, or make a counteroffer.

You made them an offer. Their counteroffer is a rejection of your offer. You can accept it or reject it.

Unless you want incredible uncertainty, run away from the deal unless you have a lawyr review the details and you fully understand the risks..
