Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Parental Feud

My Mom and Dad have 4 acres of land and a home. Three of the four acres was given to my Mom by her parents. My dad purchased the fourth acre from my Mom's sister. A house was built on the property and we lived as a family there for many years. My Mom and Dad are now separated, and a divorce looks inevitable. Who is entitled to what? My Dad has always paid the property taxes on the whole four acres, and paid for the house. My Mom says he is not entitled to the three acres given to her by her parents.

Re: Parental Feud

If a divorce is forthcoming, the issue of who gets the property will be decided by the Court, or by your parents reaching a settlement. It is impossible to guess how that may turn out.
