Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Payment for storage

I moved out of a rented room and agreed (verbaly) with the landlord to leave some of my belongings until I was able to find another room. I removed them after 16 days. The landlord says that I owe her rent for these 16 days. Is she right.

Thank you.

Any response we give is subject to the terms listed on our web page.

You would only be responsible for the reasonable storage costs if at all. My LL never collect for these types of events. If you are in possession of your stuff, offer her the reasonable storage rate for 16 days (whatever that is; its not more than $5 per day to store a car on an ins. lot) and if she won't take it, tell her to sue you.
