Property Taxes Due after closing

2 1/2 yrs after closing builder says we owe $800 for 44 days of property taxes, contract says :If proration is based on estimate instead of bill purchaser agrees to reprorate at or before closing. Do they have the right to try and collect this?

All this should have been wrapped up at the closing. I would contact the closing attorney and see what his documents say.
