Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

we put an offer in on a home low price pos really but we are looking to downsize and relocate we have a preapproval letter from one of two of our lenders we have used in past to turn at least 5 or 6 houses lower down in Georgia where prices are really expensive -this is a podunk north georgia town compared to where we live-this old lady tried to tell us where we had to obtain our loan is that breaking a GA lending law because i was an agent a while back and I am sure it is lender steering
