Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Putting someone on the deed and not on the mortgage

My girlfriend and I are purchasing a home in Hoschton, GA. Her credit is better than mine, and to get a good interest rate, we are leaving me out of the mortgage application process. However, we both agree that I should be on the deed and listed in the official papers as co-owner. How can we do this?

Most lenders will not allow you to do this. If your name is on the title, they want you on the loan. However, you should find out from your girlfriend's lender who the closing attorney is and call him/her and ask what this particular lender's policy is.
