Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Georgia

Quit Deed

I am currently in litigation involving a car accident that was my fault. It is possible that I will be sued by the opposing parties insurance company for a large lump sum. Am I able to quit deed my home to a family member to prevent my home from being taken away due to my inability to pay this possible large sum that I will be sued for?

If you anticipate a lawsuit and damages award under the circumstances that you describe then you should arrange a consultation with an attorney.
